Shadow IT release

A core piece to managing subscription software spend is understanding what tools you are spending on.

For many organizations, this is not as easy as it sounds due to the growing prevalence of shadow IT.

Simply put, shadow IT is using software, applications, and services not approved or supported by your company. In the era of software-as-a-service (SaaS), the risks of shadow IT are more significant than ever.

As part of releasing a wider paid version of our beta, we launched shadow IT features to help our beta users uncover all the apps use at their organization. Along with our existing spend features, customers are now able to see:

  1. What applications were used at their organization

  2. Who at their organization uses those applications

  3. How much they are spending on each application

New features

Google Loading screens

  • Following the user connecting their Google Workspace, we provided a loading screen that shared what Talisman was doing at each step of the connection

  • We've added a new Google Summary screen to the onboarding process. This screen will give you a quick review of the apps and members associated with your Google Workspace account

Member Review

  • Added a Member review screen to onboarding to allow users to review and confirm members added to their organization's apps

App Review

  • Added an App review screen to onboarding to allow users to review all of the apps connected to their Google Workspace, the users associated with each app, and mark which ones were Org approved or not

Universal Directory

  • At the completion of onboarding, after connecting both Google Workspace and their bank account we display a Universal Directory screen that shows all of the Members, Apps, and Subscriptions that the user will see in the main experience

Apps Overview

  • The Apps Overview page is a page with a table with all of the apps connected to the organization and high-level details on them

App Profile
