Balancing bugs & progress
Bugs are always bound to pop up in a product, they are inevitable in the world of software development.
The challenge all companies will face is balancing addressing bugs and making significant progress in pushing their product forward.
For our team at Talisman, our goal is to bring a delightful, polished experience to our users so we pride ourselves in trying to not only find the bugs but eliminate them before customers catch them.
That said, with only one developer to work on the bugs (for now), we try to strike a balance between addressing the bugs and continuing to release new features.
As we prepared for our full launch, we took time over the last two weeks to push some new features but put significant time into eliminating bugs we’ve seen pop up:
New features
Onboarding
We’ve launched a new priority page where you can customize your Talisman onboarding to fit your specific needs
Account management
We pushed a re-authorization button that allows you to reconnect your bank account on the Accounts tab of Expense Overview if your bank’s connection to Plaid is ever interrupted
Bugs eliminated:
Onboarding
We fixed a bug in our priority screen below that was visually cutting out the ‘Continue’ button
We fixed a bug that wasn’t populating the Member and App data pulled from Google Workspace during onboarding
Subscription management
We fixed a bug that was trying to show the last 4 for payment methods that didn’t have them
We fixed a bug that caused certain subscriptions to appear as a Possible Subscription again
App profile
We fixed the Member’s table that showed duplicate entries around who accessed a given app
